Bona Dea Update

Bona Dea was snow covered today. Snow started before midnight Sunday and continues this moment 8:40 pm Monday. As of 2pm today it had snowed 3.5 inches. At the home bird feeder there were Carolina Wrens and Black-eyed Junco birds. A Great Blue Heron flew over the park by the dike. Tomorrow I will go out and around the park and take photos of the snow and whatever critters are running or flying around. There were a couple of boys with a homemade snow board trying their luck going down the steep side of the dike by the parking lot. Their mother decided to try and never could get up without falling down several times. Was really funny to watch. This is the first time that it has snowed this much in a couple of weeks time in the winter in a long time. The snow just makes winter what is was meant to be. Its really refreshing to get out and walk around the out of doors when everything is white and smells so clean.

Beautiful birds! I think this snow is breaking records and causing havoc across the US, I'll be glad when the real TX weather comes back!
Too bad you didn't get a shot of that mom falling!

Yes it is. It has been a long time since we have had this many snow events for a winter. Not really all that much in inches but just every few weeks. When I was a child, it seemed to snow a lot. So this sorta reminds me of those days. Talking about the mom falling. The other day I went to a local college softball game and when the defense took the field, you know how they do. The outfields huddle up and talk it up and then break for their positions on the field. Well, the center fielder started to stumble and stumble and trying to catch herself and then she fell over backwards and did a flip. The other players just laughed at her and she got embarrased. I wish I had a video of that. Thanks, for you comment and you are welcome back to visit often.
