Bona Dea Update

Bona Dea was cloudy with light rain and very cool this afternoon. There was not much wildlife activity. In Goose pond off Swinging Bridge Trail there was a single Musrat swimming around looking like he was going to his underwater den. There were some varieties of Warblers around and I could hear Pine Warblers in the distance as well as Tufted Titmouse birds. Also saw a Carolina Chickadee. By the pumping station I saw some small brown birds that were low and in the dark and looked to be Wren's or woodland Sparrows. May have seen a Blue-gray Gnat-catcher in a tree. I heard a Pileated Woodpecker call. I fed the Blue-gill-Brim fish at the spillway. Looked again for the Alligator but no luck. It appears the nesting Canadian Goose is off her nest. The male was seen the last few days on Prairie Creek. It is possible they have moved their nest.
