Bona Dea Update

Bona Dea was cloudy with light rain late in the afternoon. On Swinging Bridge Trail the Chickedees were still hanging around the spillway. Pairs of Canadian Geese were still going over to Black Water Swamp. Some ducks were flying there also. Northen Cardinals were singing away. Robins were scattered about. On a highline electric line close to the park was perched a Mockingbird along with Grackles making a lot of noise. The Grackle is the black bird in the photos, Mockingbird in the other one. There were no Cormorants on Lake Dardanelle today.

I like the fact that you know your birds!! I am by no means an expert, but do try to learn the ones I don't know.
While working this weekend, I saw two woodpeckers, male and female chasing each other across 15 acres of wooded forest. It was very cool to watch.

Thanks for sharing your nature journey.

Thanks very much for your comment. You might put out some bird seed and have quite a few come around. Some of these around here are migrating through. So we don't get to see them that often. A rare Treat. Can't wait for the snakes and turtles to start coming around.
